West London Regional Park
Ealing Council awarded ÂŁ1,459,696 to manage West London Regional Park

Exciting developments are ahead for Perivale and the wider borough as the West London Regional Park gains momentum, promising a fresh vision for green living.

Ealing Council has secured a substantial ÂŁ1.46 million grant from the Greater London Authority to propel the project, which will be distributed over the next two financial years.

This ambitious initiative will connect treasured green spaces and waterways from Horsenden Hill to Brentford Lock, thanks to a collaborative effort involving local councils, the Canal and River Trust, the National Trust, the Environment Agency, and the Mayor of London.

For Perivale, the park means easier access to beloved sites, including Perivale Park, via a proposed 13km trail for walkers and cyclists.

Residents are encouraged to join upcoming workshops and help craft a natural legacy for future generations.

Joke Of The Day

Why did the Ealing local bring a ladder to the pub?

Because they heard the drinks were on the house!

England football star Chloe Kelly has been awarded an MBE in the King's Birthday Honours in recognition of her outstanding services to football.

Kelly grew up in Hanwell and attended Elthorne Park High School, has become one of the most celebrated figures in English football following her pivotal role in the Lionesses' recent successes on the international stage.

Kelly etched her name into sporting history when she scored the winning goal in England's dramatic UEFA Women's Euro 2022 final victory over Germany at Wembley, helping secure the nation's first major women's football title.

The MBE is the latest honour for the local sporting hero. Earlier this year, Kelly was granted the Freedom of the Borough of Ealing, the highest civic distinction awarded by Ealing Council, in recognition of her achievements and the pride she has brought to the borough.

The award highlights Kelly's contribution both on and off the pitch, inspiring a new generation of young footballers across Ealing and beyond.

Carers across Ealing were celebrated in a heartfelt event at Perceval House, uniting carers, local organisations, and council representatives for Carers Week 2026.

Organised by Ealing Carers Partnership and the Ealing Carers Hub, the gathering honoured the vital, often unseen work of unpaid carers who support family, friends, and neighbours every day.

With at least 24,000 local carers — and likely many more uncounted — the event underscored the immense value these individuals bring to the borough.

Councillor Paul Driscoll praised carers as “the backbone of our communities,” emphasizing their compassion and dedication.

For those needing support, the Bridgit Care app offers easy access to local advice and services through the Ealing Carers Hub, helping more residents receive the assistance they need.

Ealing continues to thrive thanks to its dedicated carers, fostering hope that even more people feel empowered to access available resources.

Hanwell Carnival returns to Elthorne Park on Saturday, 20 June 2026, welcoming locals from noon to 6pm after a year away.

As one of London’s oldest community events, dating back to 1898, it’s expected to draw more than 25,000 people eager for music, entertainment, and connection.

This year’s festivities skip the usual street parade due to rising costs, but promise plenty of excitement.

A Community Stage, curated by Westside Radio, will highlight local talent such as Ealing Street Dance Academy and Ealing Rock Choir.

The Main Stage features live music from groups like The Hanwell Ukulele Group, Powerjam Bands, and Primary Scream.

Families can look forward to a children’s area, dog show, petting zoo, donkey rides, food stalls, arts and crafts, plus a lively funfair.

With support from local charities and sponsors, the carnival spotlights Ealing’s community spirit and invites everyone to join the celebration.

Doreen’s is bringing a fresh energy to Pitshanger Lane with its official opening on June 12, 2026, combining a daytime tea room and an evening wine bar in the former hairdresser’s space.

With Ealing Council’s backing, Doreen’s will invite guests until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays, while wrapping up at 5pm mid-week and Sundays.

The menu features wine, Champagne, beers, tea-themed cocktails, and tasty small plates.

Alcohol service ends at 10:30pm Thursday through Sunday.

Some residents voiced concerns about outdoor licensing, worried about children’s exposure to noise and smoke.

To address this, the rear garden closes early, smoking is limited to the front, and strict conditions including CCTV and staff training have been agreed with police.

Councillors praised the team’s experience, paving the way for Doreen’s to enhance the vibrant local scene.
