Litten Nature Reserve in Greenford will reopen on 20 June 2026 after a year-long closure, inviting the public for free guided visits from 2pm.
Set on Oldfield Lane South, this much-loved spot features five ponds, woodland trails, and historic oak and ash trees.
Though public access was paused, Forest School sessions and educational visits continued throughout the closure.
The reserve’s legacy includes being saved by local volunteers from development in the 1980s, and its ponds include one formed from a WWII bomb crater.
Families can enjoy refreshments by the woodland hut and easily reach the site via the E10 bus, near Farndale Crescent.
Greenford also celebrates Grove Farm and Costons Lane Nature Reserves, which foster community conservation with vibrant habitats, regular events, and hands-on involvement, reflecting a strong local commitment to nature. Read More... |

Doreen’s is bringing a fresh energy to Pitshanger Lane with its official opening on June 12, 2026, combining a daytime tea room and an evening wine bar in the former hairdresser’s space.
With Ealing Council’s backing, Doreen’s will invite guests until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays, while wrapping up at 5pm mid-week and Sundays.
The menu features wine, Champagne, beers, tea-themed cocktails, and tasty small plates.
Alcohol service ends at 10:30pm Thursday through Sunday.
Some residents voiced concerns about outdoor licensing, worried about children’s exposure to noise and smoke.
To address this, the rear garden closes early, smoking is limited to the front, and strict conditions including CCTV and staff training have been agreed with police.
