Looking for what’s on in Ealing this week?

The borough has an exciting mix of film, theatre, live music, art, family entertainment and local heritage to enjoy as October gets underway.

The standout attraction is the Ealing Film Festival, with screenings across Acton and Ealing. There’s also a new production at The Questors, a special celebration of Southall’s Caribbean heritage and creative workshops for residents.

🎬 1. Ealing Film Festival 2026 – Ealing & Acton

 

 

Thursday 15 – Sunday 18 October

The Ealing Film Festival returns for its seventh year, celebrating filmmaking, fresh talent and storytelling.

The four-day programme includes Homegrown screenings in Acton on Thursday, a film-school showcase on Friday, four blocks of short films on Saturday and a special screening of festival winners on Sunday.

Screenings take place at ActOne Cinema and Ealing Picturehouse, giving film lovers plenty of opportunities to discover work from emerging filmmakers.

🎭 2. Faith Healer at The Questors – Ealing

 

 

Friday 16 – Sunday 18 October

Brian Friel’s acclaimed drama Faith Healer opens at The Questors Theatre.

The play follows travelling faith healer Frank Hardy, his partner Grace and manager Teddy as their conflicting memories raise questions about truth, belief and personal relationships.

Performances this week are Friday and Saturday at 7:45pm, and Sunday at 2:30pm. The production continues until 24 October.

🖼️ 3. Islamic Geometric Drawing Workshop – Ealing

Tuesday 13 October

Artist and educator Samira Mian leads the second session of Islamic Geometric Drawing as part of the Healing Ealing creative wellbeing programme.

Participants explore the shapes, symmetry and traditional design techniques behind Islamic geometric patterns, creating artwork of their own.

It's an opportunity to try something creative while discovering an art form with a rich cultural heritage

🏛️ 4. The Power Behind the Throne – Ealing

Tuesday 13 October | 7:30pm

A fascinating evening exploring the women who helped build the kingdom of Maharajah Ranjit Singh.

The Power Behind the Throne brings an often-overlooked chapter of Sikh and South Asian history into focus.

The talk takes place at Ealing Green Church, with tickets advertised from £5.

💃 5. Movement with Russell Maliphant OBE – Ealing

Thursday 15 October

Internationally acclaimed dancer and choreographer Russell Maliphant OBE leads another movement workshop in the Healing Ealing programme.

The session offers adults an opportunity to explore movement and creativity in a supportive setting, with an emphasis on participation rather than performance.

🎼 6. Bach to Baby: Autumn Sparklers – Ealing

Saturday 17 October | 11am

Families with babies and young children can enjoy live classical music at Haven Green Baptist Church.

Bach to Baby: Autumn Sparklers is part of the popular concert series that welcomes young children into a relaxed musical environment, allowing parents and carers to enjoy professional performances together with their little ones.

📚 7. Tracing Southall’s Vibrant Caribbean Community – Southall

Saturday 17 October | 6pm | Free

Southall Library hosts an important local-history talk exploring the borough's Caribbean community during the middle and later decades of the twentieth century.

Presented by Elisia Sebastian Swaby, the event uses photographs and historical documents to explore community life, music, celebrations, sport and the relationships formed between Southall's different communities.

It's a valuable opportunity to discover an aspect of Southall's multicultural history that deserves greater recognition.

🎤 8. An Evening with The Enchanters – Southall

Saturday 17 October

Southall welcomes back The Enchanters for a special hometown appearance after 40 years.

The event combines music and community heritage, offering an opportunity to reconnect with part of Southall's cultural history. It forms part of the borough's October arts programme.

🎶 9. Ealing Extranormal – Southall

Saturday 17 October

If your musical tastes extend beyond conventional concerts, Ealing Extranormal offers something different.

The monthly event showcases adventurous and experimental music in west London, in association with OPEN Ealing.

🎨 10. Family Crafts at Ealing Libraries – Ealing & Acton

Saturday 17 October | Free

For families looking for accessible local activities, Ealing Libraries has several creative sessions this weekend.

At Acton Town Hall Library, Saturday Craft starts at 11am, while Ealing Central Library hosts a children's craft session at 2:30pm, aimed at ages 5–12.

Both provide opportunities for children to enjoy creative activities without needing to travel far from home

What’s On in Ealing This Weekend?

The weekend of 17–18 October offers a particularly good selection. Film lovers can enjoy the Ealing Film Festival, families have Bach to Baby and children's craft sessions, while Southall hosts a celebration of Caribbean heritage, a homecoming musical event and experimental music.

For theatre enthusiasts, Faith Healer at The Questors is another strong option.

Although this week's larger events are concentrated in Ealing, Acton and Southall, there are smaller community and library activities in Hanwell and Northolt. I haven't included unverified events simply to fill all seven towns.
