Residents of Ealing are invited to join their local Town Team, a community-driven initiative aimed at enhancing neighborhood engagement and fostering local volunteer opportunities.
Supported by Ealing Council, these teams unite residents, businesses, community and faith groups, and councillors to address local priorities. Their efforts range from revitalizing high streets and green spaces to organizing community projects and events.
A Town Team comprises local volunteers who meet regularly to set and act upon area-specific goals. Activities include transforming community ideas into actionable projects, planning events that bring people together, and identifying and resolving local issues such as safety and cleanliness in collaboration with the council and other partners.
Members come from diverse backgrounds, including residents, community and faith groups, businesses, and councillors, offering a wide range of perspectives and experiences. Teams typically convene monthly, working alongside the council to implement improvements in their areas.
For instance, the upcoming Hanwell Carnival on Saturday, 20 June 2026, exemplifies the impact of such community collaboration. After a year's hiatus, the carnival returns to Elthorne Park, running from 12 noon to 6 pm. This beloved event has been made possible through the collective efforts of local organizations and volunteers. ([hanwellcarnival.co.uk] https://hanwellcarn
