Acton shoppers won't have to wait much longer as TK Maxx prepares to open its brand-new store at The Oaks Shopping Centre this August.
Fresh red-and-white branded hoardings have now appeared around the former Wilko unit, replacing the temporary construction boards and providing the clearest indication yet that the retailer is nearing completion of its fit-out. The signage points to an August opening, although an exact launch date has not yet been announced.
The new store will occupy one of Acton's largest retail units, left vacant since Wilko collapsed in 2023. At approximately 16,000 square feet, the space offers ample room for TK Maxx's well-known range of discounted fashion, homeware, beauty products, footwear and accessories.
The arrival of TK Maxx is expected to provide a welcome boost for The Oaks Shopping Centre, which has experienced several high-profile vacancies in recent years. Local residents have long hoped a major national retailer would take over the prominent unit and attract more shoppers back to the centre.
Acton was previously identified as one of TK Maxx's preferred London expansion locations, making the new store part of the retailer's wider growth strategy across the capital. Once open, it will become the company's third store in the London Borough of Ealing, joining existing branches in Ealing Broadway and Greenford.
For local shoppers, the opening represents another positive step in the continued regeneration of Acton's town centre and provides another reason to visit The Oaks over the coming months.
