The TG Jones Greenford store at Westway Cross Shopping Park is to close its doors on 26 September 2026.

TG Jones confirmed the closure following approval of a restructuring plan affecting its wider store network. The Greenford branch is one of the former WHSmith high street stores that became TG Jones after WHSmith sold its high street business to Modella Capital in 2025.

For Greenford, however, the change has a longer local history.

WHSmith was one of Westway Cross's original anchor retailers. It initially traded from the unit now occupied by Marks & Spencer Foodhall before moving during 2016/17 into the former Jessops unit — the location subsequently rebranded as TG Jones.

Staff being supported ahead of closure

TG Jones told Ealing.News that it is supporting colleagues at the Greenford store during the closure process and thanked customers who have shopped there over the years.

The company did not confirm how many jobs would be affected or whether employees had been offered positions at other stores.

The closure forms part of a much wider restructuring. Up to 150 of approximately 450 TG Jones stores could potentially close, while the company is also seeking changes to rents at some other locations.

Another change at Westway Cross

The loss of TG Jones will mark another change in the retail mix at Westway Cross Shopping Park, which remains home to a range of major retailers, restaurants and services.

The TG Jones website currently continues to list the Greenford branch at Westway Cross Retail Park, 1000 Greenford Road, Greenford UB6 0UW, with its normal opening hours.

For residents who remember WHSmith's long association with Westway Cross, the September closure will represent more than another change of shop name. It brings an end to a retail presence at the shopping park that has continued through different locations and, most recently, a change of ownership and identity.
