Families across Ealing will once again be able to pick up free primary and secondary school uniforms at a series of pop-up events taking place throughout August, helping to ease the cost of preparing children for the new school year.

Organised as part of the Ealing School Uniform Project, the initiative offers a wide range of donated branded and unbranded uniforms, including shirts, skirts, trousers, jumpers, sportswear, footwear and school bags. Everything is available free of charge, helping families save money while reducing clothing waste.

The pop-up events will be held at ReActon in Acton, Perceval House in Ealing, West Ealing Library and Southall Manor House, making it easy for families across the borough to access the scheme before schools return in September. Residents are also encouraged to donate clean, good-quality uniforms their children have outgrown so they can benefit another family.

Since launching in 2025, the project has supported more than 265 families, redistributed over 800 items of school uniform, saved almost two tonnes of carbon emissions and conserved more than 330,000 litres of water, demonstrating how a simple community initiative can deliver both financial and environmental benefits.

The scheme highlights how communities can come together to support one another while encouraging reuse and reducing unnecessary waste. For many families, it offers practical help at one of the most expensive times of the year, while ensuring good-quality clothing stays in circulation for longer.
