The organisers of the Wizz Air Ealing Half Marathon are appealing for another 400 volunteers to help make this year's race weekend a success.
Taking place on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September, the award-winning event relies on more than 700 volunteers each year to support thousands of runners, families and spectators across the borough. Route marshals are currently the most urgently needed role, although volunteers are also required for water stations, baggage, race village support and event set-up in Walpole Park.

No previous experience is needed, and volunteers are simply asked to give between four and six hours of their time. Individuals, families, sports clubs, charities, businesses and community organisations are all encouraged to take part.
Event Director Sandra Courtney says the volunteers are what make the race unique.

"Runners tell us every year that the support on this course is unlike anything else in London."
That community spirit has become known as the #EalingFeeling and is one of the reasons the race has become one of London's most popular half marathons.
Volunteers don't just help the runners—they become part of the event itself. Everyone who completes their volunteer shift receives refreshments on the day and a free entry into the 2027 Wizz Air Ealing Half Marathon, making it an ideal opportunity for anyone thinking about taking part next year.

Since launching in 2012, the Ealing Half Marathon has raised more than £3.5 million for charity while showcasing the very best of Ealing's community spirit. This year's organisers hope hundreds more local people will step forward and help make the event another memorable success.
