Community events in Ealing this summer |
Highlighting Hanwell Hootie Carnival and Summer festivals in the area |
Hanwell Carnival is set to make a triumphant return on Saturday, 20 June 2026, after a year's hiatus dedicated to fundraising and planning.
From midday to 6 pm, Elthorne Park will come alive with a vibrant celebration of community spirit.
Established in 1898, this cherished event stands as one of London's oldest community gatherings, deeply embedded in Hanwell's summer traditions.
Thanks to generous support from The Charity of William Hobbayne, Ealing Council's Your Voice, Your Town initiative, and the Heathrow Community Trust's Communities Together grant programme, the carnival's future is secured for both 2026 and 2027.
While the traditional street parade is on hold due to rising costs, attendees can still anticipate a full day of entertainment in the park.
The lineup includes live music, dance performances, food stalls, a dog show, children's rides, and an animal area featuring donkey rides and a petting zoo.
Performers such as The Hanwell Ukulele Group, The Grim Face Marys, and Those Dirty McGuffins are slated to take the stage, promising a diverse musical experience.
Des McManus, a key organizer, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "Since the last carnival, we have worked hard to strengthen the event and are determined to give everyone in Hanwell and beyond a great day out this year."
In addition to the Hanwell Carnival, Ealing's summer calendar is brimming with other exciting events.
The Ealing Beer Festival will be held from 8 to 11 July 2026 in Walpole Park, offering a vast selection of real ales, ciders, and craft beers.
Music enthusiasts can look forward to the Ealing Blues Festival on 1 and 2 August 2026, also in Walpole Park, featuring performances by artists like Robert Finley and Leoni Jane Kennedy.
For the younger crowd, the New Gen Festival on 29 July 2026 in Walpole Park provides a platform for emerging artists, dance battles, and creative workshops.
These events underscore Ealing's commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community atmosphere throughout the summer. |
