This small West Ealing business is all about homemade Jamaican cooking, with jerk chicken, curry goat, oxtail and brown stew chicken accompanied by favourites such as rice and peas and plantain. Passion Jerk Centre — Greenford
If you're looking for Jamaican and wider Caribbean comfort food, Passion gives you plenty to explore. Jerk chicken and wings sit alongside oxtail, curry mutton and brown stew chicken, with rice and peas, fried plantain, festival and dumplings completing the plate. Seafood fans can investigate jerk fish or pepper prawns, while the Buss Up Shut paratha introduces a distinctly Trinidadian element to this otherwise strongly Jamaican-led menu.

Tiki Bar Restaurant London — Acton
This may be the most unusual discovery in the group because Tiki Bar brings Haitian cuisine to The Vale. Try griot — marinated, slow-cooked and fried pork served with spicy pikliz — or Haitian Fritay combining griot, tasso, pressed green plantain and pikliz. There's even traditional pumpkin-based Soup Joumou. Add cocktails and an impressive rum selection and you've got a Caribbean experience that travels well beyond the more familiar Jamaican dishes.

Turtle Bay Ealing — Ealing
Turtle Bay is our recognisable anchor rather than an under-the-radar discovery, but its menu provides an accessible way to explore several Caribbean flavours. The jerk chicken is marinated for 24 hours before open-flame grilling, while curry goat is slowly cooked with garlic, ginger and Scotch bonnet. Brown stew chicken, rice and peas, sweet plantain and Trini coconut curry broaden the choice, with cocktails completing the more energetic restaurant-and-bar experience.
