Wonderful news has arrived for Perivale and the wider community — the West London Regional Park is firmly on its way to becoming a reality, bringing with it a genuinely exciting vision for green living across the borough.
The Greater London Authority has awarded Ealing Council £1,459,696 to help drive the project forward, with Ealing asked to act as the accountable body, holding and administering the funding on behalf of the wider partnership. The grant will arrive across two financial years — £772,098 in 2026/27 and £687,598 in 2027/28.
The park will weave together existing green spaces and waterways from Horsenden Hill all the way to Brentford Lock, and is being shaped by a remarkable collaboration involving Ealing Council, Hounslow Council, the Canal and River Trust, the National Trust, the Environment Agency, and the Mayor of London.
For Perivale residents in particular, this is deeply personal. The park will draw together much-loved local spots — including Perivale Park itself — into a far more accessible and vibrant natural network. Early proposals include a 13km walking and cycling trail linking parks, waterways, and wildlife habitats, offering something truly special right on the doorstep. The council is keen that local people have their say on what the park becomes, with workshops for young people and under-represented groups already in the pipeline.
There has never been a better moment for Perivale neighbours to get involved and help shape a green legacy that future generations will cherish. |
