There is wonderful news to celebrate from Ealing's own University of West London, where a group of talented students has shown the borough exactly what its next generation of business leaders are made of.
Sixty students took part in Claude's Business Challenge, which ran throughout May 2026, competing in a series of real-world tasks spanning investment, branding, sales, marketing and business strategy. The competition was a joint effort between the Students' Union, the Claude Littner Business School and the UWL Business Society — a fine example of the whole university community pulling together.
The contest followed a knockout format, with four teams ultimately progressing to the final, assessed by a panel that included entrepreneur Claude Littner alongside faculty, the Students' Union and representatives from the Vice-Chancellor's Executive team. The winning team shared a £10,000 prize, with the runners-up receiving a well-deserved £5,000. Claude also awarded a coveted personal mentoring opportunity to the team judged most deserving.
The challenge was originally conceived by former MBA student Sanaa Sirajuddin Kazi, now Activities and Participation Officer at the Students' Union, and it is heartening to see her vision continuing to grow and inspire others across Ealing's vibrant university community.
With ambition and enterprise like this on display, the future of West London business looks very bright indeed.
