The Myllet Arms Perivale is among pubs whose future is reportedly under review as owner Greene King considers potential disposals from its wider estate.
The pub, situated on Western Avenue opposite the distinctive Hoover Building, was included in reporting about Greene King's review of its pub portfolio. Ealing.News reported that the company could potentially sell around 150 pubs.
Importantly for residents and regular customers, the Myllet Arms remains open and trading. Current information from Greene King continues to advertise regular opening and food-serving hours, along with facilities including dining, a beer garden, sports coverage and parking. A longstanding Perivale landmarkThe Myllet Arms has been part of the local landscape for decades. CAMRA records the large roadhouse pub as dating from 1937/38, when it was built for Benskins on the former Church Farm site following the development of Western Avenue. The pub has undergone significant changes and refurbishments over the years and is now operated by Greene King.
Its long history means uncertainty surrounding the Myllet Arms Perivale is more than simply a story about changes to a national company's property portfolio. For generations of residents and people travelling along Western Avenue, it has become a familiar part of the Perivale landscape. For now, however, a review should not be confused with a closure announcement. There is currently no confirmed closure date in the information reviewed by Ealing Spotlight, and Greene King's own information continues to show the Myllet Arms operating normally.
