GCSE results day brought celebrations across Ealing's schools as thousands of young people discovered the grades that will determine their next steps into sixth form, college, apprenticeships and other opportunities.

Students across the borough have plenty to celebrate after the latest Ealing GCSE results 2026 showed another strong year for local schools.

Results gathered from most of the borough's high schools indicate that Ealing pupils have once again achieved outcomes above both the London and national averages, according to figures published on 24 August.

The results follow an encouraging A-level season in which Ealing's sixth-form students also outperformed national figures, making August a particularly positive month for education across the borough.

Schools celebrate individual successes

Behind the borough-wide picture are thousands of individual results and some impressive performances from local schools.

At Notting Hill & Ealing High School, 91% of GCSE entries were awarded grades 9–7, with 74% achieving grades 9–8 and an impressive 45% receiving the highest possible grade 9.

There were celebrations in Southall too, where students at Dormers Wells High School gathered with parents, family members and friends to open their results and begin planning their next steps.

The full picture will continue to develop as validated school-level performance data becomes available. That's important because results-day figures published by individual schools are voluntary and are not necessarily reported on exactly the same basis.

For that reason, Ealing Spotlight would caution against using early results to create a simplistic league table between schools.

What the available figures do provide is an early indication of another encouraging year for many of the borough's young people.

From GCSEs to the next chapter

GCSE results day is about much more than percentages.

For students, the results mark the end of years of study and the beginning of decisions about sixth form, further education, apprenticeships, vocational qualifications and eventually employment.

They also represent the combined efforts of pupils, teachers, school staff and families throughout Ealing.

That makes the strong Ealing GCSE results 2026 an achievement worth recognising across the borough — while remembering that every student's next step will be different.
