London Climate Action Week is upon us, and Ealing is buzzing with a variety of events designed to inspire and engage residents in sustainability efforts.
Running from 20–28 June, this week offers numerous opportunities to participate in activities that promote positive environmental change.
**Weekend: Engage with Nature** Kick off the weekend by joining a community litter pick or visiting the KINDfire exhibition in Bloomsbury, which runs from 18–28 June.
**Monday: ReActon Hub** From 11am to 2pm, the ReActon Hub offers insights into local sustainability projects, waste reduction tips, and a school uniform swap shop.
**Tuesday: Climate Café** Youths aged 11–18 are invited to a climate café at Acton Library from 4–6pm to discuss climate issues and explore local impact opportunities.
**Wednesday: Biodiverse Gardens Competition** There's still time to enter the borough’s biodiversity-friendly garden competition. Even small spaces can enhance local biodiversity.
**Thursday: Nature Count at Ealing Beaver Project** Join the Ealing Wildlife Group for the City Nature Challenge and help document wildlife at the borough’s beaver project.
**Friday: Participate Online** Attend a council webinar on building climate resilience and discover how to get involved. Additionally, a local screening and discussion at the University of West London, hosted by ActForEaling, will take place.
**How Else Can You Help?** Consider reducing home energy use, opting for walking, cycling, or public transport, minimizing waste through recycling services, and utilizing the borough’s Library of Things.
**'Small Changes Can Make a Big Difference'** Councillor Dominic Moffitt emphasized the importance of collective action, stating that with nearly 400,000 residents, even small changes can significantly impact the borough's environmental footprint.
